    Publishers

We support publishers throughout the entire NIMAC process from development of file sets, delivery, assurance and tracking of inventory, and deploying custom marketing to increase sales (as NIMAC participation is highly sought after with larger sales, such as the NYSED and other SED’s).

    Students

We support students with disabilities by providing high quality file sets that can be used to create a variety of specialized formats, such as braille, audio, digital text, etc.

We are driven by a mission to accomplish objectives
using the most innovative and advanced industry tools
on the market today. Ranging from technological to
strategic design, we can develop and deploy custom
solutions to any publisher large or small.
● The Association of American Publishers support NIMAS.
● State Education Agencies (SEAs) must adopt the NIMAS (by 12/3/06).
● The National Instructional Materials Access Center (NIMAC) is
established.
● State Education Agencies (SEAs) and Local Education Agencies (LEAs)
require that publishers submit NIMAS conformant file sets to NIMAC.
● The federal IDEA-2004, or Individuals with Disabilities Education Act,
indicates that the term “print instructional materials” includes printed
textbooks and related printed core materials that are written and
published primarily for use in elementary school and secondary school
instruction, and are for use by students in the classroom.
NIMAS-conformant source files will not be distributed at the classroom, school, or
even district level, since these files require additional enhancements to make them
appropriate for student use. SEAs and LEAs will need to designate an authorized user,
so there is no risk of materials being purchased by districts directly from NIMAC and
not by the source publishing companies.
Coordinating with NIMAC will:
● Provide instructional materials options beyond those currently available.
● Maximize the availability and effectiveness of student-ready versions created
by authorized entities.
● Provide economies of scale, and allow publishers to facilitate larger sales to
districts that require participation with NIMAC as an agreement (typically 60
days).
